U.S. - Mexico to Houston?

If I were a betting man, that’s where I’d say the proposed winter-or-spring friendly is going. That's the inside word from folks prefer not to go on the record.

I know that Dallas is out of the mix, as Mexico has played Big D twice in the last six months.

Word is that Mexico wants to work the East Coast  on its pre-World Cup maneuvers – with a likely stopover in Houston to face the Yanks. Previous meetings of the border rivals at Reliant have drawn 69,000 and 70,000, the most recent of which was Feb. 6, 2008.

Don’t forget, Reliant is also the site of the 2010 MLS All-Star Game. So, it’s gonna be a big year for futbol in South Texas.

Sweet!

I went to the USA/Mex game in 08 and it was a blast. Surprisingly, the yanks had pretty good support. Houston gets a bum rap. Everyone thinks (including US soccer) that only 80,000 Mexicans show up. Houston has a good of a blue/green ratio as any of the games ive see on tv.
