Talking MLS and U.S. World Cup roster

Sometimes I think my weekly piece at SI.com is like all the girls I dated back in the day: way too chatty and overly complicated. Sometimes you just want the nitty-gritty. You want to gulp it right down, not sip on like a wee $22 glass of tawny port. Sometimes you just need something more like this, Shatz’s quick, clever and comprehensive MLS weekend wrap over at Black and Red United.

Or, if like the chatty, extended dance mix, here’s my SI.com weekly wrap-up piece, anchored by Team of the Week.

Also at SI.com, you can also check out a bunch of soccer nerds geeking out over their choices for the final 23-man roster if Bob Bradley were to call and ask us. (FYI when you get to mine, yes, I know Brian McBride has retired. But why do these things if you’re not gonna throw something provocative out there to pep up the piece and start some conversation?)

Check it out as you prep for the 2 p.m. ET release Tuesday of the training camp roster, to be shown on ESPN News.
